Fully Managed WordPress with Free Site Migration - And No Support.

Signup Experience

DreamHost - Managed WordPress for all plans At first glance, I got the impressions DreamHost only offers 2 WordPress hosting packages. You have the option between shared hosting powered by CPanel and the fully managed “DreamPress” option. As I was not very interested in having another CPanel experience I chose for “DreamPress”.

DreamHost - Pricing of Plans Prices are very reasonable compared to other WordPress hosting options. The comparison table looks quite meager but that is due to features being listed on a different section of the webpage. Features for Shared and DreamPress packages are quite similar.

DreamHost - Selecting a domain name If you are a new customer, you will be sent to the registration page, which is step 1 of the process. The second step is selecting the domain name you wish to use. I appreciated the option of being able to use a DreamHost domain to test out my WordPress install while my DNS resolved.

DreamHost - Pricing of DreamPress Very clear choice to make on step 3 of the signup process. You have the option of paying on a monthly or yearly basis. These prices are the final prices, no hidden fees that suddenly get added to your total.

DreamHost - Transfer your current WordPress Thanks to DreamPress being fully managed it is possible to have the DreamHost support staff do the transfer of your existing WordPress site. No extra costs are associated to ticking the “Yes” box.

DreamHost - Payment Everything was quick and easy up to this point. I was a happy camper. Until I pressed the purchase button. I was thrown back to the login page and upon logging in sent to my dashboard which prominently displayed “The DreamHost account approvals team will get back to you shortly with details on your new account.”.

At this point in time I am unable to provide an in depth review of DreamHost’s DreamPress hosting due to my account not being validated and still waiting for an answer from their support team.
